Engineering undergraduate senior interested in Structural Engineering. I have been a
part of Sacramento State's SHPE chapter since Fall 2019 and have held various officer
positions. For the 2020-2021
academic year, I served as the Director of Membership. For the 2021-2022 school year, I
held the Vice-President
position. For the 2022-23 I held the Treasurer roll. I am currently the Director of
Academics for the Fall 2023. I'm a
first-generation Hispanic college student with a passion for engineering. I look forward

Hello SHPE, my name is Josue S. Garcia
and I am a second year EEE major with focus in power design. My motivation to be
a SHPE officer is loving to help people and loving to see how everyone is special in
their own way, making connections
with people like me and overall being extroverted. I am very excited to be part of SHPE
as it has been a big part of my
upbringing in Sac state so far and that I want to reach and help as many people as

Hello SHPE! It is my second year as a
transfer student from Cabrillo College. I was born and raised in Watsonville, CA.
As a mechanical engineering student, I am passionate about using technology to help
protect and restore important
ecosystems, such as wetlands and forests. I am currently working as a Power Systems
Engineering Intern at the California
ISO. I served at the President of the Cabrillo Aerospace Club, where I started Project
Seed Drop, an effort to use
drones to restore Watsonville's Wetlands and promote carbon sequestration. I was also
selected to be a part of Cabrillo
College's Cabrillo Engineering Abroad team, where we traveled to Costa Rica to help
coffee farmers transition to organic
and sustainable farming. In addition to this, I was chosen to participate in NASA's NCAS
program, in which I designed a
rover for a conceptual lunar mission. During my free time, I like to be enjoy nature and
practice my creativity through
music, writing, Lego building, and photography, among many other things! I look forward
to being your Director of
Professional Development!

Engineering with a focus in aerospace or
robotics. I’m a transfer student from Napa Valley College. I was introduced to SHPE
while I was there and I’ve been

My name is Sergio Rodriguez and I am a
2nd year Computer Science major at CSUS. I am passionate about learning how to use
Computers to create useful programs and express my creativity, so I take pride in being
one of the Webmasters for SHPE. I am happy to contribute to the community here at SHPE
with my knowledge of Web Development.
Hello my name is Ruben Ortega and I’m a
4th year computer science major and your SHPE historian. I run the instagram and
Facebook for SHPE. I also make the flyers for the general meetings.
The Webmaster Committee is an essential part
of the Sac SHPE chapter as so many individuals utilize the web services to obtain
current information about events, resources for information about scholarships and
current officer and chapter information, and other opportunities. The website includes a
webpage to sign up and join the Sac SHPE chapter which needs to be maintained and
encourage students to become members. We provide easy and quick access to joining our
chapter as well as for information that our members and the Sac State community can
access. We will be working on the SacSHPE.org website and help committee members become
better web developers and leaders. A student of any major is encouraged to join.
